KCE Reports 295C (2017)
Back pain, what to do? Faced with the wide variety of solutions offered to those who suffer from this "pain of the century", the KCE had already published last May a Clinical Practice Guide based on the latest scientific knowledge. As an extension, this is a care itinerary that defines, for a given patient and according to the type and duration of his or her pain, the examinations to be carried out and the treatments to be proposed in order to progress in the most coherent way possible. This is the first time that a care plan has been drawn up jointly with representatives of all the healthcare professions concerned and with patients. It covers both lumbar (simple back pain) and radicular (sciatica type) pain. For ease of use, the KCE has also developed an interactive online version (www.lowbackpain.kce.be).
