Planned study - IGGI (Infectiologiegids – Guide d’Infectiologie) guidelines for the use of antibiotics in hospitals are available, but their methodology does not comply with international standards. The Belgian Society for Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology has asked KCE to select the infectious syndromes most relevant to the IGGI guidelines and to update them using a rigorous methodology. This methodology should be clearly documented to enable the SBIMC to independently review the remaining sections of the guidelines. An ADAPTE procedure could be used, starting with existing guidelines on the use of antimicrobials in hospitals, based on a sound methodology (e.g. NICE) and taking into account Belgian antimicrobial resistance.
