Planned study - Verneuil’s disease is a dermatological disease listed as a rare disease in the Orphanet database, but its prevalence is not that low (0.1%-1%). It has a significant impact on patients’ quality of life. Several recent scientific publications concerning its treatment, including the recent or imminent publication of guidelines (German, European), warrant an analysis by KCE with a view to producing good clinical practice guidelines adapted to the Belgian context.
This clinical best practice guide could also help to improve the visibility of the disease within the primary care sector. The possibility of coupling this project with a NEED survey, to assess the unmet needs of patients, remains to be evaluated.
