Before being submitted to KCE’s Executive Board, all KCE reports are peer-reviewed by three independent experts (‘validators’), with no prior involvement in the study. Through the external validation procedure, KCE wants to obtain a documented confirmation that the research procedures have resulted in a high-quality product that satisfies current methodological standards as well as the general principles of objectivity and independence.
Validators do not co-author the scientific report and do not necessarily all three agree with its content. Their name and affiliation are included in the colophon.
KCE is exclusively responsible for the policy recommendations. Any (potential) persisting errors or omissions are the sole responsibility of KCE.
