Withdrawn study - A new KCE study has been started at the request of RIZIV/INAMI (study 2024-52) to assess the pilot projects on the new financing mechanism for home nursing care. The study will focus on the differentiation of nursing tasks and can be summarised as follows:
Within the Insurance Committee, the RIZIV/INAMI commission in charge of agreements between nurses and health insurers has defined the principles of a new financing model for home nurses, the operationalisation of which is currently being developed in a preparatory phase (September 2024-September 2025). Subsequently, the new financing mechanism will be tested in pilot practices (September 2025-2027). KCE is responsible for the scientific evaluation of these projects and will define the research questions and expected effects in a research protocol, which will be the subject of a first report in 2025. Further reports will be produced in 2027 and 2028 on the basis of several measuring points (pre-intervention/baseline – intermediate – post-intervention). The 2028 report will include recommendations and might be supplemented by an analysis of the IMA/AIM data in 2029.
As the differentiation of nursing functions and tasks is an important objective of the new financing mechanism, it no longer seems appropriate for the KCE to carry out a separate study on this subject.
